12 days!

My mom is coming to visit in less than 2 weeks! I can't wait! February 11 can't come fast enough.
She is going to be here for a little over a week and my dad will be joining us at the end of the week! She and I have so much fun and with Gerry at school all day I will get to be entertained! haha. Last time she came out here it was awesome and I loved having her around! (Waking up to a spotless kitchen is the best!)
My mom and I had rough patches when I lived at home like every mother and daughter but we do so well now! I miss her more than I realize and I always count down the days until I see her again.

Aren't we cute? This is at my wedding obviously. One of my favs of me and mom

This is in Hawaii on vacation a few years ago. I'm amazed how much we look alike.

Basically I've started my countdown and I can't wait for her to come. We are going to have so much fun! I hope my girls and I have as good of a relationship as I have with my mom.

21 weeks

Here is me at 21 weeks! I'm going to try and post a pregnancy survey I stole from a friend every once in a while so here we go!

•How far along?: 21 weeks 5 days

•Total weight gain: 8 lbs

•How big is baby?: The size of a banana!

•Maternity clothes?: Oh yeah, Maternity pants, dresses, shirts, the whole deal.

•Movement: Constant. Baby A has an anterior placenta so I only feel her up high and when it's REALLY hard. Baby B is kicking right now and all the time. She kicked daddy in the head the other day when he laid his head on my stomach!

•Stretch marks?: This week my first few showed up on my tummy. My chest has been sporting them for a while.

•Sleep?: Becoming more and more difficult. I am just uncomfortable and I wake up all the time to pee.

•Symptoms?: Crazy heartburn, sore back, and hot flashes.

•Food cravings: fresh guacamole, lots of liquids (water, juice, etc)

•Belly button in or out?: It's out most days but sometimes when I just wake up it's still in.

•What I miss: Being comfortable sitting on the couch... I can't really sit comfortably anymore

•What I'm looking forward to: My baby shower next month with my mom and dad coming to visit!

•Best Moment this week: Having one of the babies kick Gerry in the face when he put his head on my tummy. They usually stop moving when he goes to feel them so getting kicked in the head was awesome!

•Milestone: No big milestones this week. Most recent one was reaching half way! wahoo!

•Nursery Progress: haha... we cleaned out the closet in that room?

Alice Nichole and Colette Parker

We had our big ultrasound at 19 weeks 1 day. Gerry had his first day back to school and couldn't miss it so my Mother-in-law came with me. It took FOREVER! An anatomy scan takes and while and with two it takes twice as long! We got a dvd of it and we were given the confirmation that we are in fact expecting two beautiful little GIRLS! (Our OB had told us at 17.5 weeks she was fairly certain they were both girls)

Here is Baby A
And here is Baby B

We couldn't be happier for our little Alice Nichole and Colette Parker!

Here is me at 13 weeks

Here is 15.5 weeks starting to be unmistakably pregnant. This also when I started feeling the little ones move! Gerry finally felt them around 18 weeks while we were in Ohio.

Here I am at 20 weeks! Half baked and loving it!

Baby A

At 12 weeks along we had an ultrasound that checked our babies for chromosomal abnormalities. All the results came back wonderful and great and we got some beautiful little pictures! It was so reassuring!

How many?!

In the first week of October I had an ultrasound to see if my pregnancy was viable. My doctor did not see anything on the ultrasound but an empty sac. I was so sad. My bloodwork had come back with great numbers but the ultrasound was suggesting something different. She sent me over to a specialist to have another ultrasound with a better machine worried that something might be wrong. They did an ultrasound and were not allowed to tell me what they found.
I was a nervous wreck all day crying on and off thinking I had lost another baby. That night, I made Gerry call the doctor's office and get the results because I could not wait any longer. He sounded surprised on the phone but I was having a mini meltdown in the corner and didn't really pay attention. When he got off the phone he was all smiles. He told me that the ultrasound had revealed TWO sacs, one with a beautiful heartbeat and one that was empty. Although the doctor expected I would miscarry the empty sac I had one healthy little baby in there!
I went back in a week later on October 11 to see if the empty sac had passed yet. How surprised was I when I saw this....

Twins!

Although I was supposed to be 8 weeks we had TWO little beans with heartbeats measuring 6 weeks 2 days. We were so excited! We told our parents that night and could hardly contain ourselves.
I had some great doctors who helped take care of me, our babies and my anxiety and we safely made it out of the scary first trimester!

Our Journey

Gerry and I got married in December of 2009. We started trying to start our family in April of 2010. I quickly became pregnant in June of 2010. We found out on Father's day and we were so happy! Unfortunately July 4th weekend I started spotting and I had a confirmed miscarriage at 6 weeks along July 7, 2010. We waited the allotted time and started trying to start our family again.

In September of 2010 we learned we were pregnant again and a few days later I started bleeding again. I had a chemical pregnancy which is when the egg doesn't implant all the way.

We started trying to get pregnant again and this time it didn't happen so quickly. In late February of 2011 we found out we were pregnant again. I was so nervous this time and we didn't share with anyone right away. The day before my first doctor's appointment at 8 weeks, March 20, I started bleeding again and miscarried that night. We were devastated. I started thinking we weren't going to be able to have a successful pregnancy and I was crushed. After waiting the allotted time again, we started trying to conceive again and I tried to keep it off my mind.

In April 2011 Gerry and I graduated and moved to California to get ready for law school. We stayed at his parents over the summer and I tried not to stress about it. We moved again in August to our current location in Woodland Hills for Gerry to attend Pepperdine Law in Malibu.

We found out we were pregnant again in September of 2011. My previous doctor suggested going on progesterone the next time I got pregnant to support the pregnancy in the beginning. I found a doctor and got on progesterone immediately when I guessed I was around 5 weeks pregnant. The doctor brought us back a week later to do an ultrasound to see if this pregnancy was viable. Which leads me to my next post...
